Every episode of the South Korean reality show The Masked Singer is always filled with shocks and surprises for its fans, along with lots of speculation and guesses on the identities of the celebrities behind the costumes. Some actors are easy to guess even for those who don’t get involved in a lot of pop culture, while others can have even the most devoted fans at a loss.
For those who aren’t familiar with the show, The Masked Singer is a show in which different celebrities appear in huge fantastic costumes and sing a song. Special software disguises the voice of the actor, and only certain clues hidden throughout the appearance point to his or her true identity. Certain judges such as Robin Thicke appear to select their favorite participants, while panelists try to figure out who’s behind the masks.
The elimination process eventually leads to the selection of a winner for the season, who will receive the show’s prize, the “Golden Mask.” Here are the winners for each season of The Masked Singer.
Season 1
The show’s first winner really ended the opening season with a bang. T-Pain, the American rapper, surprised everyone when he pulled off his Monster costume to reveal his identity. He went completely unidentified by the panelists right up to the unmasking.
Season 2
Everyone loves the Fox! Wayne Brady went in with big plans to confuse the judges from the start, but some of them did end up figuring him out in the end. The comedian and acting star dressed up as a very dapper fox, which was both stylish and cute.
Season 3
The Night Angel was quite a surprise for many fans, although she was correctly guessed by half the panelists. She took off her mask to reveal Kandi Burruss, star and businesswoman.
Season 4
A literal star came out on top this season. LeAnn Rimes appeared on the show as the Sun and went home with the Golden Mask. She was also identified before the unmasking by half the panelists.
Season 5
Piglet’s always a winner! Nick Lachey carried off Season 5 of the show The Masked Singer. Only one panelist figured out that Piglet was the boy band singer before he took off his mask.
