Dandamudi Amar Mohandas was born in India in the year 1957. He was the only son of Late Sri D. Mohan Rao and Smt. Danda Naga Sarada. His parents were very religious and gave him a religious upbringing. Though he was born in a Hindu family, he was exposed to different religions and became interested in Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism, and Christianity. He started reading about these religions and their philosophies at an early age.
He did his primary schooling from St. Peter’s School, Kota until 4th grade and then he joined Central Model School, Kota till 7th grade. After 7th grade, he went to Rajputana Military School, Ajmer for one year where he studied until 8th grade. Following that, he attended Mayo College, Ajmer from 1971-73 for his 9th and 10th grades. He first attended Pennsylvania State University from 1976-77 and then transferred to Rutgers University in New Jersey where he completed his undergraduate studies in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. After working for a few years as an engineer, he decided to pursue an MBA degree and obtained his degree from New York University in 1985.”
