The BBC and its history
Background
The BBC was launched by the British government in November 1936 as a service for “the common man” who would be able to gain access to impartial, reliable information.
From radio to television and now the BBC Online (which is what we all use for the news, basically) it has changed over the years.
During the Second World War, in 1941, news bulletins began to be broadcast from the BBC’s studios in London.
It was also through the BBC that the UK got its very first colour TV broadcasting.
The story about World War II
The war impacted not only the UK, but also the BBC and the nation.
At the beginning of its life, the BBC faced financial obstacles that slowed the growth of the BBC, and later on, the BBC was involved in the censorship of radio, which was also a big problem.

What is BBC?
The BBC describes itself as “Britain’s publicly-funded international broadcaster. It has for decades been the world’s most trusted news organisation.”
It is the world’s most popular English language international broadcaster, with a weekly audience of at least 750 million people worldwide.
The BBC aims to deliver impartial and independent news and information in more than 30 languages. It is governed by the BBC Trust, an independent body overseen by Ofcom.
BBC is funded by a licence fee, which is collected by the Office of Fair Trading and sent to the BBC in London to fund programmes, especially outside the UK.
The BBC is headquartered in London and has a number of regional centres, including in Belfast, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Top of the morning to you!
As the nation transitions from summer to autumn, the BBC’s One O’Clock News was filmed on Tuesday, September 17, from the Liberty Science Center in Jersey City, New Jersey.

The building itself features a Liberty Science Center transformer.
On top of that, the sound the news is said to have generated on set sounded like a whole lot of screeching and scratching. Very much unlike a top of the morning.

While the clanging sounds aren’t exactly the result of unexpected electricity, it is likely a side effect of using the transformer to power the news production. The Liberty Science Center itself doesn’t produce electricity.
The bottom-line is: People on Twitter were mad.

The future of the BBC

We often talk about the BBC’s history in terms of content. In particular, we often talk about the story behind the launch of the BBC.
While this is very interesting to tell, what I am personally more interested in is what the BBC looks like now. I personally consider the BBC to be the true face of British culture. Not only does it host the highest quality television output on the planet, but it also reaches and represents the widest audience in the United Kingdom and therefore has a great deal of influence.
However, unlike, say the US, the UK has no independent government bodies that control or influence the BBC. This means that no one entity has a monopoly on Britain’s media. In the UK, we live in a pluralist society.
Conclusion
British Broadcasting Corporation or BBC is one of the biggest media organizations that is currently operating in the United Kingdom. The Corporation was officially founded on 1 January 1927, and it became the world’s first ever radio and television news gathering and transmitting organization.
As a public institution, the BBC has operated with a wide variety of British and international broadcasting standards. Nowadays, there are several different ways of broadcasting in the United Kingdom and its territories. The BBC doesn’t only broadcast in the United Kingdom, however, the news organization has offices in other territories, and its satellite TV channel operates in Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.
