Electric longboards, often known as electric skateboards, motorized skateboards, or remote-control skateboards, come in two varieties: regular and off-road.The latter is also known as all-terrain electric skateboards.
There are different sizes of longboard:
- Long Longboards
- Midsize Longboards
- Short Longboards
- Narrow longboards
- Wide Longboards
Electric skateboard size refers to the size of a ride’s deck, which is critical because it is where your footing maintains balance. Longboard size is normally measured in both width and length, so when you’re ready to buy one, double-check the measurements in both directions to ensure the board fits you perfectly. The short boards range in length from 29′′ to 34′′, while the long boards begin at 50′′ and go up to 60′′. A board’s narrowness ranges from 6 to 8.5 inches, and its width ranges from 8.5 to 11 inches. The width of most of the deck’s ranges from 7′′ to 10′′, which is sufficient for the majority of riders. For better understanding, look below table:
Recommended Deck Width 7’’ or less for the age of 8 or 8+
Recommended Deck Width 7’’- 7.5’’ for the age of 9 to 12
Recommended Deck Width 7.5’’+ for the age of 13+
The length of your skateboard will be determined by your preferences and riding discipline. A shortboard or cruiser is defined as a skateboard with a length of less than 33 inches in conventional skating. These boards are fantastic for tricking and cruising about town. A longboard of the proper size allows you to perform your tricks and maneuvers with ease and comfort. The appropriate size impacts your speed as well as the possibilities of a board.
Electric Skateboard has different styles of riding:
Cruising: You can use a 32’’- 42’-inch longboard to cruise down to Slope Street or through your campus if that’s all you’ll be doing. My personal opinion says that cruisers are the most stylish way to get around a city.
Downhill: As a thrill-seeker and adventurer, you need a longboard with a width of 35 inches or more if you want to bomb hills as fast as possible without losing control. As well as giving you the power you need for such a sport, it also ensures your safety. Downhill skiing is not for the faint of heart, nor is it recommended for beginners.
Freeride/freestyle:Due to the fact that freeride includes slides and curbs, and freeride involves riding hills, it requires a more stable board. Your ride will be more stable if you keep it between 38 and 42 inches.
Below are the sizes of skateboard according to the style:
Electric Skateboard style Recommended skateboard size
Cruising 32’’- 42’’
Downhill 35’’ – 45’’
Freeride/freestyle 38’’ – 42’’
Choosing the best and most appropriate longboard size is a lengthy, difficult, and at times unpleasant process. However, if you understand the significance of size, making a decision is simple. One thing to keep in mind is that everyone is different, and the size of a longboard will differ from one person to the next. Your choice of longboard size will be influenced not just by personal preference, but also by your riding style. Make an informed decision!
