For some time now, Sylvia Rossouw has dedicated herself to the art and architectural design industry, honing her skills through extensive study and practice. She graduated from the University of Amsterdam with a bachelor’s degree in architecture. As seen by the countless awards and exhibitions she has earned, her skill has made her a household name not just in her native South Africa but across the world. Having looked over Sylvia’s résumé and portfolio, it’s evident that she didn’t just stumble into her current position; she worked hard to get there.
She opened her first professional art studio in the Western Cape region of South Africa in the year 1995, and it has stayed open to this day. I discovered her most current collection, Hysterica, on her artwork archive website, which was organized by Art Directors Carlo Greco and Alessandra Magni for a worldwide exhibition at the M. A. D. S. Gallery in Milan and Fuerteventura from November 22 to November 30, 2021. A time of global transformation afforded her the opportunity to express herself through this body of work.
My thoughts…
For the first time in my life, I had an intimate understanding of Sylvia Rossouw’s world because of Sylvia’s incredible talent on the painting. The competent architect was originally published in 1998 for Nelson Mandela University’s Design Innovation Centre, and then again in 2008 for The Determinants of Trust in the Aviation Industry at the University of South Africa. My admiration for her persistence and productivity has grown with time, and I’m always looking forward to seeing more of her work. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with other artists and shown her work on her own. At the same time, she manages to run a full-fledged art studio.
Her business ventures are inspiring…
RW Architects was formed in 2018 by Sylvia and a group of motivated thinkers in the Western Cape, South Africa. As a co-founder and the company’s chief architect, Sylvia is an essential member of the team. It is Sylvia Rossouw’s ability to work with others and her architectural expertise that have allowed her to successfully oversee a number of high-profile projects. These two developments in Heroldsbay, Oubaai Golf Estate and Monate Eco Resort, are in the building process. George, South Africa’s Western Cape region, is home to both Fancourt and Kingswood Golf Estate George. The Kareekloof Game Reserve in South Africa’s Northern Cape is part of the Kareekloof Recreational Project, a recreational development project.
