Born in Moscow in the family of Alexander and Alla Drobyazko. Mother worked in trade, father was a polar pilot. There is an older brother.
Childhood was spent in Magadan, in Anadyr. At the age of three, I saw Irina Rodnina’s performance on TV and also wanted to skate. Since skates were not sold in the North, the parents with great difficulty got the scarce goods through their acquaintances in Moscow. But skating at a temperature of minus forty was impossible, and there were no indoor skating rinks, just as there were no coaches.
Then the mother and children moved to Moscow to give her daughter the opportunity to train. Over time, the father moved to the capital, and the family was reunited.
I went to first grade in Moscow. She began to study in a paid figure skating section near the house. Soon she was noticed by the coach of the school of higher sportsmanship and was invited to this school. She started out as a loner, then moved on to sports dancing. Then Natalia Dubova studied for three years. It was so hard that I decided to quit the sport. But one day a friend of the skater, who was left without a partner, called and invited him to skate in CSKA in the group with Gennady Ackerman. True, that skater was soon kicked out for violating the regime. And six months later, at the skating rink in Luzhniki, she met her future permanent partner Povilas Vanagas, who at that moment was choosing between the army and CSKA.
After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the Lithuanian Vanagas wanted to represent his homeland in international competitions.
In order not to break up the long-established duo and not to look for a new pair for myself, I decided to apply for Lithuanian citizenship. In addition, according to the skater, she believed that “all the Baltic countries were still part of the USSR.” I went to my first Olympic Games without a passport. She received Lithuanian citizenship only in 1994. We studied with many coaches – Elena Maslennikova, Vladimir Kotin … But only when we started training with Elena Tchaikovskaya, there were successes, prizes at the European and World Championships.
In 2002 she completed her sports career.
However, she returned in 2005 and, together with her partner and husband Povilas Vanagas, became the champion of Lithuania. At the 2006 Turin Olympics, which was fifth in their sports career, they only finished seventh and retired from amateur sports after the Games.
Graduated from the Moscow Institute of Physical Education.
In 2007 she took part in the project of the First Channel “Ice Age” in tandem with the actor Alexander Dyachenko.
In 2008 she took part in the second season of Ice Age together with actor Dmitry Miller.
In 2009 she skated with actor Pyotr Krasilov in the third season of Ice Age.
In 2010 she performed in the Ice and Fire project together with actor Andrey Chernyshov. In the same year he appeared in the musical “Big City Lights” on ice, directed by Ilya Averbukh.
