According to police sources, the father and mother of the accused Sher Mohammad had planned to escape by hitting the bus on Tuesday morning. After receiving information from a secret source, the police of Ketugram village police station in East Burdwan arrested them from Chakta bus stand. They are interrogating his father Siraj Sheikh and mother Mehernika Bibi to get the whereabouts of Sher Muhammad.
Renu was sleeping at her home in Chinispur in Ketugram on Saturday night. Allegedly, in the middle of the night, he was hit in the face with a sharp weapon by pressing a pillow on his face. The hand is cut off from the wrist. The accused took Renu to Katwa Sub-Divisional Hospital in a bloody condition. He was later shifted to a nursing home in Durgapur. The news was given at Renu’s father’s house. The man of the woman’s house claimed that their son-in-law fled the area as soon as they reached the hospital.
