COVID- 19 and Mental Health has been a long-discussed topic for now. COVID- 19 came with its setbacks to the lives of people in the form of anxiety, depression, and even suicides. This dark phase of the lives of people was induced mainly due to financial losses and the loss of lives of loved ones in general. The long hours of staying home and zero social interaction triggered people so much at the mental level that it resulted in being diagnosed with one or the other psychological disorder.
A disturbed sleep cycle was detected majorly as a sign of depression in people. Let us go through the optimistic shift seen in mental health conditions of the masses brought by COVID- 19 vaccination.
Going Through a Research By Center For Economic and Social Research (CESR), California William D King Highlights Positive Effects of COVID- 19 Vaccination on Masses
Recent research published by the Center For Economic And Social Research (CESR), California, in the PLOS One Journal shows how physical and mental health are interrelated and how the first dose of vaccination COVID- 19 has reduced the mental stress of people in general. Scientists see this as a positive thing in the long run as this study can help the masses in any unpredicted pandemic-like situation that might occur in the future.
This study was conducted among 8000 adults for one year and more in the go periodically. Before and after vaccine statements of the public were recorded and studied to have a comparative study of mental stress due to COVID- 19 in the masses. A positive shift in mental distress of people was found in the people after the first dose of the COVID- 19 vaccination. Going through the statistics, it was recorded that 4% of people had a positive shift after the first dose of vaccination. 1% reduction in the count of people being moderately depressed. 0.7% reduction in the people being highly depressed.
Improvements Observed After Vaccination
A change in people’s life perception and behavioral patterns was recorded, says William D King, as the result of the vaccination. A huge gap in the thought processes and the way of seeing life was seen in people who were vaccinated and who weren’t. One can say a lost hope was seen regained among the masses! With seeing the changes in the behavioral patterns and a sense of relief in the people who were vaccinated, more people from the masses got attracted to get the vaccination done for them as well, thus, ensuring the safety and health of their near and dear ones.
Conclusion
Going through the CESR report and statistics, we can conclude that vaccination played a huge role in bringing an optimistic shift in people’s mindset during the pandemic. Mental health was not so openly discussed topic or even an unseen myth among the masses before the pandemic became a reality and health condition of the masses owing to the pandemic. The way health insurance gives people relief from the burden of medical bills same way vaccination came to the lives of people as a protective shield against the virus. A lost hope indeed!
