Officials say the second allocation of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to Nevada is expected to be 42 percent less than originally anticipated. The Nevada Department of Health and Human Services received an update from the Department of Defense and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) about the state’s second allocation of the COVID-19 vaccine. Officials said the state received 25,350 doses of the Pfizer vaccine this week and of those doses, 17,550 were available for the state to distribute to counties. 7,800 were set aside for staff and residents of long-term care facilities.
