MS Dhoni: Most Able Captain of CSK
Over the years, CSK has performed extraordinarily and achieved incredible feats under the leadership of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Last year, the team ended up on one of the lowest rungs of the points table. But the team has bounced back this season.
It is his inspirational leadership and humility that lifts his team in difficult times. MS Dhoni brought IPL’s glory to Chennai Super Kings. Here are some of his achievements:
- CSK won the IPL tournament for the first time in 2010. Dhoni was awarded Man of the Tournament back then.
- The team won the IPL again in 2011. He was awarded Man of the Match awards in two consecutive finals.
- He was selected as the Player of the Series in the IPL 2012.
- He was the captain of the winning team in IPL 2013. In the 2013 IPL auction, Chennai Super Kings bought him for a record 9.5 million. He donated this money for the Chennai floods.
- He was named Player of the Series in the IPL 2013 and the captain of the winning team for IPL 2018.
Chennai Super Kings will kick off the rest of the IPL season in the UAE with a game against the Mumbai Indians at Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Dubai on September 19, 6 PM (UAE timing), followed by six matches on 24th, 26th, and 30th September and three matches in October on 2nd, 4th, and 7th, 2021.
